{"id":510029,"date":"2024-12-11T16:07:37","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T21:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/?p=510029"},"modified":"2024-12-11T16:07:39","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T21:07:39","slug":"orbite-to-expand-luxury-space-training-with-series-a-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/orbite-to-expand-luxury-space-training-with-series-a-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Orbite to expand luxury space training with Series A funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN FRANCISCO \u2013 Spaceflight training startup Orbite has raised $4 million to expand its business, which combines astronaut training with luxury vacations.<\/p><p>After raising $4 million in a Series A funding round, Seattle-based Orbite unveiled its Experience Train Fly Program.<\/p><p>\u201cWe\u2019re opening it up to the general public, engaging in a digital marketing campaign and inviting people to experience astronaut training,\u201d Jason Andrews, Orbite CEO and co-founder, told <em>SpaceNews.<\/em><\/p><p>Since Orbite was founded in 2019, the company has offered astronaut orientation programs in France and Cape Canaveral, Florida. Future orientation programs are planned for the Middle East, Antarctica and the Caribbean.<\/p><p>Orbit\u2019s early pilot projects revealed demand for elements of astronaut training as part of a luxury vacation. It\u2019s \u201ca lighter-touch way to explore the New Space economy,\u201d Andrews said. Our partners including Accor are very supportive of establishing that facility.\u201d<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spaceflight Training and Flight<\/h4><p>Through Experience Train Fly, customers can learn what it\u2019s like to train for space or live in space.
